Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks with Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu and signed 20 key agreements, elevating their bilateral ties to a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. Muizzu made an official visit to China at a time when there was a diplomatic row with India. He appealed to China to send more tourists to the Maldives and praised the BRI projects.
